Even heat for the best results

Headerbild Produkte Preheating

The quality of every casting is determined before the actual casting process begins. The preheating furnaces of REITEL's RETOMAT series bring flasks and investment materials to precisely the required temperature before the metal flows. The four-sided heating spiral system ensures uniform heat distribution throughout the entire chamber, preventing temperature peaks that could compromise the material or the fit accuracy of the finished casting.

With a maximum temperature of 1,150 °C and a controlled heating rate of up to 15 °C/min, the RETOMAT series covers the full spectrum of dental and commercial casting processes. The robust stainless steel construction and the upward-swinging chamber door make daily operation safe and straightforward.

Uniform Heat for Reproducible Results

The RETOMAT series is available in two control variants. The EASY control maintains the set target temperature constantly until shutdown and is ideally suited for standardised laboratory workflows. The COMFORT control enables advanced digital programming of temperature profiles, as required for demanding alloys and high laboratory workloads. Optional features such as a catalytic converter for post-combustion of furnace gases or an extraction fan additionally ensure a clean working environment.

The right solution for every need

Dental Laboratory

In the dental laboratory, controlled heat preparation of the flask is a decisive step on the way to a precise casting. The preheating furnaces of the RETOMAT series burn wax and plastic residue-free from the investment material and bring the flask uniformly to the optimal burnout temperature for the respective alloy. This prevents stress cracks, porosities, and dimensional deviations in the finished casting. Whether base metal alloy, precious metal alloy, or high-performance ceramic — precise temperature control creates the thermal conditions for accurately fitting crowns, bridges, and removable partial denture frameworks.

Jewelry

In jewelry manufacturing, the quality of preheating directly determines the detail accuracy and surface finish of the cast piece. The preheating furnaces of the RETOMAT series bring lost-wax moulds and flasks to exactly the required temperature before precious metals such as gold, silver, or platinum are poured. Complete and residue-free burnout of the wax model is just as critical as uniform heat penetration of the mould, which prevents cold flow and casting defects. The RETOMAT series reliably delivers both — even with multiple flasks in daily operation.

FAQ – Preheating with REITEL

Which models does the RETOMAT series include and how do they differ?
The preheating furnaces of the RETOMAT series are each available with either EASY or COMFORT controls. The EASY control maintains the set target temperature constantly until shutdown and is ideally suited for standardised laboratory workflows. The COMFORT control additionally enables the digital programming of temperature profiles, guaranteeing a high level of reproducibility — particularly when processing different materials and alloys.
What temperatures do the preheating furnaces reach and which materials are they suitable for?
The furnaces of the RETOMAT series heat up to a maximum of 1,150 °C, covering the full spectrum of common dental alloys and precious metals. The heating rate is up to 15 °C per minute. This makes the devices suitable for melting out and burning out wax and plastic, as well as for preparing flasks for base metal, precious metal, and ceramic casting.
How is uniform temperature distribution within the chamber ensured?
The four-sided heating spiral system fully encloses the heating chamber and ensures homogeneous heat distribution from all sides. This prevents localised temperature peaks that could lead to stress cracks in the investment material or dimensional deviations in the casting.
What is the optional catalytic converter and when is its use recommended?
When melting out and burning out wax and plastic, vapours and odours are produced that can place a burden on the working environment. The optional catalytic converter burns off these furnace gases almost completely through catalytic post-combustion. It is particularly recommended in poorly ventilated rooms or when throughput is high during daily operation. An optional extraction fan is also available as a complement.
How should the preheating furnace be integrated into the laboratory workflow?
For optimal results, the filled flask is placed into the preheated or cold-starting furnace after the investment material has been mixed and set, then gradually brought up to burnout temperature under controlled conditions. The COMFORT control allows the programming of defined heating ramps, as specified by many investment material manufacturers in their processing instructions. This enables the entire thermal cycle to be managed reproducibly and in accordance with material requirements.
How much effort is involved in cleaning and maintaining the devices?
The RETOMAT furnaces are designed for long-lasting, low-maintenance operation. The stainless steel housing is easy to clean of material residues and is corrosion-resistant to the chemical influences typical in laboratory use. The modern insulation materials inside are built for longevity, ensuring that heating performance remains consistent even after years of intensive use.
