The quality of a plaster model is determined in no small part by the precision with which it is trimmed. The trimmers of REITEL's ROTOGRIND series are designed to process models cleanly, dimensionally accurately, and with a high surface finish. At 3,000 revolutions per minute with a brushless drive, the ROTOGRIND CLASSIC and ROTOGRIND NT deliver reproducible grinding results with all common plaster types and model materials.

Both devices are manufactured in a robust stainless steel housing that guarantees a secure footing, hygienic surfaces, and a long service life even under intensive use. The removable front panel with quick-release fastener and the steplessly adjustable support table enable fast cleaning and flexible adaptation to different model geometries.

Wet, Dry, or Both

The ROTOGRIND CLASSIC is the compact wet trimmer for all standard applications in the laboratory and practice. The ROTOGRIND NT adds a fully functional dry mode to the wet operation and can be switched between both modes at the touch of a button. After dry operation, an automatic disc rinse cleans the grinding disc automatically. In the orthodontic variant, the ROTOGRIND NT is additionally equipped with an angulation table and an extra-large disc opening, enabling the precise grinding of angles on upper and lower jaw models.

Both devices operate at 3,000 revolutions per minute with a disc diameter of 250 mm.
What is the orthodontic variant of the ROTOGRIND NT and who is it suited for?
The orthodontic variant of the ROTOGRIND NT is specifically designed for orthodontic applications. It features an angulation table with a guided slider and smooth axial movement, enabling the precise grinding of angles on upper and lower jaw models. The extra-large disc opening of 12 cm facilitates handling. The angulation table can be swung away when not in use, allowing the device to also be used as a standard wet or dry trimmer. An optional line laser is available as an accessory.
Which grinding discs are available for the ROTOGRIND trimmers?
Several grinding discs are available for both trimmers: the DELTA diamond grinding disc, the PW diamond grinding disc, the silicon carbide disc, and the corundum disc with hook-and-loop fastening. For the ROTOGRIND NT, a full-diamond grinding disc is additionally available. The orthodontic variant uses a special 28 cm full-diamond grinding disc for coarse and fine grinding. Disc changes can be carried out on both devices in just a few steps.
How is the grinding disc cleaned after dry operation?
The ROTOGRIND NT features an automatically activated disc rinse that cleans the grinding disc of residues after dry operation without manual intervention. For cleaning the interior, the front panel of both trimmers can be removed via quick-release fasteners, allowing the device to be cleaned quickly and thoroughly.
What safety features are integrated into the devices?
Both trimmers feature a restart prevention system in the event of a power failure, which prevents the device from restarting automatically after an unintended power cut. The ROTOGRIND NT is additionally equipped with automatic motor shutdown and a brake when the housing is opened, increasing safety during disc changes and cleaning. Both models also feature overload protection.
How much maintenance do the ROTOGRIND trimmers require?
The brushless motor of the ROTOGRIND CLASSIC and ROTOGRIND NT is virtually wear-free and requires no regular drive maintenance. Cleaning is carried out via the removable front panel with quick-release fasteners, which provides fast access to the interior. The stainless steel housing is corrosion-resistant and easy to wipe down. The only regular task is grinding disc replacement, which can be carried out in just a few steps depending on workload and material used.
